What I do at Oregon Mentors
It depends on what day you ask! I'm responsible for coordinating daily office activities and supporting each member of the OM team so they can continue to do an incredible job serving kids. Depending on the week that could include event planning, research, program outreach or even interacting with kids and the mentors who serve them (the best part!)

The favorite thing about my job
Everyday is something different and new, but in the end, it's all work toward the same great cause. There is so much variety to each week and I'm constantly learning something I never knew before.
Why I believe that mentoring makes a difference in the lives of youth
Because I've seen it work firsthand! As a SMART volunteer for the past five years, I've witnessed the impact just one hour a week can have in the life of a child. If you imagine that multiplied by the thousands of mentors in Oregon, it's transformational! Children look for examples in their everyday lives and mentoring introduces them to new people and perspectives to help them grow and develop.
If I could be mentored by anyone who would it be
Oprah Winfrey
My favorite pastimes
Playing volleyball, watching sports from the sidelines or on TV, white water rafting, hanging out with friends or family whenever possible, going to the movies, enjoying a good book with a great cup of coffee.
Where I want to travel next
So many places! Starting some where in South America; maybe Rio for the 2016 Olympics! But hopefully somewhere much sooner...
Best kept secret in Portland
The month of September: beautiful crisp and clear fall weather while the leaves change color.
