What I do at Oregon Mentors
I keep the board of directors involved in Oregon Mentors, raise money, consult with mentoring programs, and raise awareness about mentoring.

The favorite thing about my job
Every day is different. In a small non profit organization, we all wear many hats and that challenges us to do different kinds of work. In one day, I might edit a grant, meet with a donor, facilitate a meeting, and research a new program model. I’m blessed to work with awesome people who believe in the power of mentoring.
Why I believe that mentoring makes a difference in the lives of youth
Children learn by what they see adults do, not just by what adults say. Mentoring gives kids the opportunity to hang out with an adult and observe first hand how that adult treats other people, solves problems, and enjoys life. And mentors focus on and listen to kids in a way that makes them feel special.
If I could be mentored by anyone who would it be
Franklin Roosevelt because of his courageous leadership during difficult times
My favorite pastimes
Playing with my kids. Skiing, swimming, camping, cooking, and reading.
Where I want to travel next
Locally, the Olympic Peninsula and internationally, Turkey and India.
Best kept secret in Portland
Watching the sun set from the top of Mount Tabor Park. Sungari’s sesame beef.
