Does your mentoring program struggle to effectively engage adolescent youth? Do you pour limited programmatic resources into, recruitment, screening, matching and match-support efforts for this population? If so, please join us for an informative conversation on Youth-Initiated Mentoring (YIM) an innovative, relatively new approach to mentoring that empowers youth to explore and engage existing healthy, adult role models in their life. Drs. Sarah Schwartz and Jean Rhodes (University of Massachusetts-Boston) will share their research on this innovative approach and provide an overview of the impact of youth-initiated mentoring as it relates to relationship durability, community assets, and youth outcomes.

In our March 2013 webinar, we introduced the new Handbook of Youth Mentoring, 2nd Edition. Throughout the year, several webinars will look in-depth at specific chapters in the Handbook, while will continue to cover other pertinent topics in mentoring research and practice throughout the year!
