What we know is that our programs exceed the national averages in a number of categories and have shattered goals we set as an organization. Here are just a few important statistics to know about Oregon and SW Washington's programs:

  • Oregon Mentors far exceed our goal to serve 40,000 youth by the end of 2010 by supporting more than 54,000 within that time
  • Oregon Mentors' programs have an 88% match retention rate compared to an estimated national average of 50%
  • Compared to a national estimate that 29% of mentors recommit to a second volunteer term after their initial term of service, Oregon Mentors' registered programs have a 60% match renewal rate
  • MENTOR suggests at least two hours of pre-match training for mentors and Oregon programs average 8 hours of training prior to matching
