About
White Shield Center is a residential treatment facility (located in NW Portland) for teen mothers, ages 12 to 18 and their children. During the year our clients are here at White Shield, they receive an array of services such as, a safe and healthy living environment for them and their children, continued education, counseling and group therapy, job preparation, life skills training, parenting classes and much more. Over the years we have become more and more aware, that while our clients are here, they thrive in this safe and structured environment, but once they leave, many tend to slip through the cracks as they re-enter the communities they came from. In order to continue our support to these young women, who are working hard to become independent, healthy and productive citizens of our community, we have established a new mentor program to help bridge the gaps to living successful lives.
