Program Description

Central Oregon Partnerships for Youth (COPY), a program of the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, prepares volunteers to become mentors for children with an incarcerated parent.

COPY volunteers commit to spending a few hours each week with a youth living in their community. This time is often spent going to community events, attending art programs, participating in sports, or simply hanging out and talking.

Volunteers must be willing to make a one-year commitment and are required to complete an orientation/training and background checks.

Ages of Youth in the Program

5 to 15

Description of Youth in the Program

Quality Standards of Program

Youth Goals and Outcomes

The primary goal of the COPY initiative is to provide support and assistance to the children of incarcerated parents in Deschutes County, giving them an equal opportunity to succeed.
