Program Description
The Heart Gallery Mentor Program was created to provide one-on-one mentoring for Lane County Foster Youth between the ages of 6-21. The mission of the Heart Gallery Mentor Program is to provide foster children with a dedicated, nurturing, caring individual who will be a friend to talk to and a companion to have fun with. It is essential that every child has a reliable support system in their lives and a mentor plays a big role for foster children

Quality Standards of Program
One year commitment, 10 hours of one on one time between mentor and youth each month, Screening and background check and training.
Youth Goals and Outcomes
Unite caring members of the community with Lane Co foster youth, and bring long term relational support to youth in foster care.
Mentor Profile
Mentors must be at least 21, must have 10 hour per month to give one on one time to the youth. We do expect our mentors to be culturally sensitive and have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Types of Mentoring
- Volunteer with one youth (one-to-one mentoring)
Place Where Mentoring Occurs
- Community-based (community activities might include, sports, meals, museums, concerts, etc.)
Hours Needed
- Weekday After School: 3 pm to 5 pm
- Weekend
